2026/2027 All Year Care Coordinator
At Urban Adamah All Year, young people in grades TK – 5 (ages 4-11) meet approximately every other Sunday to build their understanding of Jewish tradition and sustainable agriculture by engaging with the farm through hands-on projects, art, and discussion. 

The Care Coordinator is responsible for creating an inclusive environment for students of all needs. At Urban Adamah All Year, we may have students with Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, ADHD, and anxiety, etc. The Care Coordinator will work specifically with students with special needs and unanticipated behaviors, and will also work with educators to create a more inclusive environment in which all students can thrive. The program includes about 50 students, and 10 educators, and the Care Coordinator is responsible for working directly with students and groups who need extra support.
About The Role
RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Individual Student Support: Urban Adamah All Year is committed to being an inclusive space for all youth. The Care Coordinator will maintain student profiles, and prepare educators to work with their specific groups. There are times when students may need individual time and support away from the rest of the group. The Care Coordinator will make behavioral observations of students and create a plan to move forward with the student. The Care Coordinator will make recommendations to the All Year Manager about behavior support and management plans for individual students. The Care Coordinator will ensure that after individual support, students are re-integrated back into the group as much as possible. 

  • Group Management Support: The Care Coordinator will work with educators to ensure the cohesion of each group,  including identifying possible barriers with special needs student’s full participation. 

  • Create Culture of Inclusion: The Care Coordinator is responsible for creating a culture of inclusion. This includes highlighting students’ unique character, strength, and contributions to the All Year community. The Care Coordinator will work with educators to identify moments of engagement and leadership opportunities for all students within a group. 

  • Mentor Staff in Childhood Development and Group Management
The Care Coordinator will work with educators to provide tools for working with all kinds of children who have differing needs.

  • Proactive camper care: Work in advance with the All Year Manager to plan for accommodating all of our students, especially those with extra sensory or social needs. 

  • Provide General Support: Throughout the All Year day, the Care Coordinator will be on-call to assist in any way needed. This may include attending to a sick or injured camper, filling in for a sick educator, intervening in a behavioral issue with a student or a group of students, providing additional supervision, or helping with check-in and check-out. 

SAFETY 
All staff ensure that Urban Adamah is a safe environment for children, including physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • Staff make sure that all children are accounted for and within the delineated program areas from drop-off to pick-up time. 
  • Staff keep a birds-eye-view of potential hazards around the farm, help children use tools safely, and are available to administer basic first aid. 
  • Staff make sure that allergies are accounted for

Additional Details
Urban Adamah Staff must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

DATES, TIMES, & COMPENSATION:
This is a temporary hourly position from October 2026 - May 2027. Compensation is $27/hour - $30/hour based on experience.

This temporary hourly position conforms to the legal requirements of such positions; as such it is not bound by overtime pay requirements and does not include any benefits.

Educators are required to be at all of the following sessions: 

Mandatory Staff Training: October 18, 2026  | 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM 

All Year Sessions (9:00 AM - 2:15 PM): October 25 | November 8 | November 15  | December 6  | December 13 | January 10 | January 17 | February 7  | February 21 | March 7 | March 21 | April 11 | April 25 | May 2 | May 16

Each All Year session includes 1 hour of staff meeting and set up, the participant hours (10:00 am - 1:30 pm), and 45 minutes of clean-up. Staff time includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Staff also receive 1 hour of paid time before every session to review and prepare for the upcoming lesson; this hour can be taken any time before the next session. 

SUPERVISION: Educators are supervised by the Educational Programs Manager and Farm & Educational Programs Associate.
