At Urban Adamah All Year, young people in grades TK – 5 (ages 4-11) meet approximately every other Sunday to build their understanding of Jewish tradition and sustainable agriculture by engaging with the farm through hands-on projects, art, and discussion.
We rely on an experienced and talented group of Urban Adamah All Year (UAAY) educators to create loving, inspiring, memorable, and transformative experiences for children. Our educators ensure that children of different ages can have wonderful experiences both as part of a large group, and in smaller age-based groups.

About The Role
GROUP LEADER: Educators are responsible for co-leading a chavura, or group, of 10-15 children every other Sunday. Counselors set the tone of the group through team-building games, fun beginning-of-day and end-of-day rituals, listening circles and more. Depending on the size and needs of the group, counselors have the support of their co-counselors and the Youth Educational Programs Manager. Counselors are responsible for setting and upholding standards of safety and respect within the group.
PROGRAM / ACTIVITY LEADER: Educators facilitate activities throughout the day including chavura time which involves direct teaching on the themes of each session. Each day’s curriculum will be provided to the educator in advance, but the educator is responsible for learning and internalizing the content and delivering it in an engaging way. More information on program leading will be shared and taught during UAAY Staff Training. We aim for sensory-rich, experiential learning that is developmentally appropriate such as planting, mud-building, and creative projects involving the arts, music, and drama.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: UAAY has a small staff. Educators will be asked to support the program in a variety of ways as needed. This may include song-leading, facilitation of UAAY-wide opening and closing circle, routine clean-up after specific activities, and any other as-needed support.

All staff ensure that Urban Adamah is a safe environment for children, including physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

- Staff make sure that all children are accounted for and within the delineated program areas from drop-off to pick-up time.
- Staff keep a birds-eye-view of potential hazards around the farm, help children use tools safely, and are available to administer basic first aid.
- Staff make sure that allergies are accounted for

Urban Adamah Staff must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
DATES, TIMES, & COMPENSATION:
This is a temporary hourly position from October 2026 - May 2027. Compensation is $26/hour - $29/hour based on experience.
This temporary hourly position conforms to the legal requirements of such positions; as such it is not bound by overtime pay requirements and does not include any benefits.
Educators are required to be at all of the following sessions:
Mandatory Staff Training: October 18, 2026 | 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM
All Year Sessions (9:00 AM - 2:15 PM): October 25 | November 8 | November 15 | December 6 | December 13 | January 10 | January 17 | February 7 | February 21 | March 7 | March 21 | April 11 | April 25 | May 2 | May 16
Each All Year session includes 1 hour of staff meeting and set up, the participant hours (10:00 am - 1:30 pm), and 45 minutes of clean-up. Staff time includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Staff also receive 1 hour of paid time before every session to review and prepare for the upcoming lesson; this hour can be taken any time before the next session.
SUPERVISION: Educators are supervised by the Educational Programs Manager and Farm & Educational Programs Associate.
